I guess I could try to use Dex with my phone to vary that one.Chromebooks have long supported remote desktop access to other computers. The only variable that has been constant in these test is my Windows 11 laptop. Thoughts? I have done this through my home Verizon provider, using my mobile hotspot, using Comcast/Xfinity provider. Please verify that it is turned on and connected to the internet. I get the following message in red under the Access code on the Connect to another computer, "The remote computer is offline.Windows 11 PC - In Chrome browser shows "Support session Connecting".Windows 11 PC - Enter the Access code on the Connect to another computer and click Connect.Windows 11 PC - Using Chrome browser, go to /support.No prompts occur other than the code which reports it expires in a countdown timer. Chromebook - Click on generate code in the Share This Screen section. So, the next thing for me to do is figure out why it is not working for me. I am working on figuring out how to turn off hardware acceleration from a solution to this I saw somewhere else but her chrome://flags don't match. The next little glitch is the cursor/mouse remote movement. I used a Dex session with my phone on my laptop, and boom, I was connected. maybe through ZScalar or some group policy. UPDATE: Solved! My problem had to be related to a company security/policy setting on my work laptop. I fall under the category of having an older relative that used to be tech savvy back in the 1990s but is getting older now and needs more help (and patience). Someone has a relative with a chromebook that they need to help or give tech support to remotely, sometimes that relative is elderly or just has little experience with technology or is frustrated easily. I have seen the following over and over in this subreddit and others. I am willing to pay for a service but I will only use this to connect from my Windows PC to one or two other users once every few weeks, so I am hoping that is not $100/month. I have seen numerous posts saying some tools used to work (years ago?). Chrome Remote Desktop does not work at all. I tried Chrome Remote Desktop, Team Viewer, and Webex. It seems there are plenty of ways to share/show/display the chromebook screen, but nothing seems to allow you to take control of the screen. If you feel the answer is yes, and it is one of the ones I mentioned. Like the way Teamviewer, VNC, or Webex with "screenshare, the allow remote control" works for a Windows machine. Is there any software or service out there that allows someone to connect to chromebook and then allow that person to control the chromebook remotely?.
